Does Apple Pencil 2 Need To Be Charged. The second generation Apple Pencil attaches magnetically to the right side of the iPad. The Apple Pencil and Apple Pencil 2 are only compatible with iPads and will not work with the iPhone.

Yes and it is awkwardly charged by unscrewing the cap from the top of the pencil and sticking that in the lighting port of you iPad pro. The second-generation Apple Pencil pairs and charges magnetically and so doesnt use a Lightning connector Its also about a half-inch shorter because of this. Answered by Maria R.
Apples new 99 stylus accessory the Apple Pencil has a lot more going than it looks at first blush.
The apple pencil 2 has allowed me to get more control over my ipad pro. There is no issue with leaving it attached to the iPad continuously other than it will drain the iPads battery eventually if the iPad is not plugged into power. The replacement model I got is acting the same way. The Apple Pencil requires a display built for it which iPhones do not have.
